Red (Christopher) Vogts was tragically killed last Saturday night while riding his bike. The accident occurred outside of Vicksburg, Miss., on Highway 61 at 9pm. Red was riding from his hometown of Madison, Win., to New Orleans to visit friends when the accident occurred. Please take a moment to read his obituaries here and here and a write-up of the Madison Red Memorial Ride.
Red was a kind and wonderful person. He was a deeply inspiring person and chose to live life by investing his love in the people around him. We were honored to work with him from 2010-2011 and are deeply saddened by his death.
Red was a bright spirit and a loving friend. We grieve his death and will come together as a community to celebrate his life. In honor of Red, we will have a small gathering at the shop at 7pm this Friday night (2/15/2013). The gathering will be followed by a 3-4 hour night ride up into the Marin Headlands, where we will also gather to say a few words on what he meant to us as a person and as a friend. Please join us in honoring this wonderful person.
