Tracklomountain.

The whip.
All-rounder.

When this crusty old abandoned 1996 Gary Fisher Hoo Koo-E-Koo walked into my life back in 2007, I really had no idea why I even wanted it. Even for FREE! Nearly five years later, it's still got the cranks, bottom bracket and headset that came with it. It's still my daily commuter and the most ridden bike I've ever owned. From putting in nearly 7000 miles touring on it through Mexico, to racing Soil Saloon on it as a fixed gear "tracklomountain", to it's present incarnation as an internally geared, mullet-braked all-rounder, this bike is and always will be one of my favorite bikes, EVER. Proof that it's not what you got, but what you do with it.

Man I love old rigid mtb’s. Did you have a hard time getting the chain tension on the “tracklomountain”?

Not really. I guess I just kind of lucked out. The gearing wasn’t ideal for fixed gear (36-20 or something), but it worked.
I think it helps that I ran a bmx pintle chain (all half links) for the tracklomountain and internal geared set up.

Nice. I’m wasn’t familiar with bmx pintle chains until now. Thanks for tip. I’m going to try that the next time I try to singlespeed a horizontal droped frame.
