Second Life

Track bike riding has new wings this weekend.  After a quiet winter there is literally a spring storm of bicycle related events hailing down on the city of San Francisco.  Macaframa is giving away a Raliegh-Macaframa frameset, Red Bull is rebuilding Justin Herman Plaza as a Fixed Gear playground, Benny Gold is opening a retail store and MASHSF is opening MASH TRANSIT retail store and giving away $1,000.00 in prize money for a hill climb race.  This afternoon at 1 Post St., Macaframa will be running "Walton's Race," a re-run of last Friday's race.  More information can be found at the Macaframa website.

On Saturday Red Bull is throwing a huge international Fixed Gear event with a closed course and a tricks comp contest.  Riders are flying in from all corners of the world to participate.  Should be a spectacle.  Check it out Saturday noon at Justin Herman Plaza, more information can be found on their website.

Benny Gold, skateboard graphic design legend and illustrator of the MASH SF logo, is opening a retail store on 16th between Valencia and Guerrero.  Saturday night, opening party?  More info on his site.

Mike Martin of MASH SF is opening a retail store and in its honor throwing a hillclimb race.  His site for details.

Its fun to see so much energy around bikes and the bike community.  To everyone from out of town - welcome!
